I asked my sister if she wanted to see a movie that she wouldn’t otherwise see with her daughter and husband. She agreed immediately, mentioning George Clooney and Julia Roberts, and off we went. We took her to a little out-of-the-way cinema, on the edge of an estuary, surrounded by native plants, so we could sit in the cafe beforehand and look out at the greenery. The movie itself was fun, if pretty corny, because … well … George, and Julia. But the couch and glass of wine and freedom added to her enjoyment, and hence, mine.
A final delight was a delicious dinner out at a local restaurant, with excellent food and wine and service and, of course, company.
