In what has become a regular event over the last few years, I joined my friend, her sister, and – for the last two times – her drama-loving great-niece for a delicious dinner at our favourite local restaurant, before racing off to a local production. This time the group put on Sense and Sensibility. The sheer number of lines the actors – one in particular, the narrator – had to learn was mind-boggling, but they managed superbly, rarely stumbling, and maintained the pace and the humour of an excellent production. It’s not in a theatre, but a local school hall (so only held during school holidays), but it is professionally conducted, great value for money, and a lot of fun.,
