After thinking for years about a proposition a friend made to me a long time ago, I reached out to them a few days ago, and asked, “are you still interested?” There was no point in sitting around wondering, but not doing anything about it. I’m good at that. Contemplating the prospect of things to come is often more exciting than actually making these things happen, after all!
At first I got their out-of-office reply. Then today, an email popped up in my inbox. “Yes, in principle!” was the response. There is still a lot to be discussed, and worked out, my husband has to be brought on board, and in the end any of us might pull out. But it could be fabulous. You’ll know if it proceeds. But not for a few months at least. In the meantime, I’m delighted I asked!
