Many Wellingtonians are still away on holiday. So we decided to try our favourite spot for brunch, hoping that it wouldn’t be over-run by too many others who were of like mind. There was space for us, and we sat in the always calm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, enjoyed a glass of our favourite wines (shiraz for him, chardonnay for me) before deciding what our last orders might be. The food is always good. The coffee and lemon sweet treats at the end delicious. We said thankyou and goodbye to the delightful and very special owners. I didn’t get emotional … not until now.
