On another of this year’s delightful summer days, I headed out to the deck with a glass of wine, some leftover pumpkin and kumara dip and a few crackers, a bluetooth speaker, and my book, for a relaxed time in the garden before dinner. The oak tree shaded me from the sun, it was warm, with almost no breeze, and although the birds left me in peace, the cicadas were buzzing. It was, quite simply, blissful!
