A lovely warm day, with lots of clouds, high humidity, and a looming southerly cool change, prompted us to head to the coast for a picnic. We cheated, and bought a sandwich at a Subway, but enjoyed watching the birds, the waves, the walkers, the changing light on the sea, and the large island opposite us as we ate. It was good to get out to the coast after a week or so when we stayed closer to home, good to smell the sea air, and take advantage of the summery temperatures.
